Cristián Hernández

I am Cristián Hernández, a molecular biotechnologist passionate about the development of high impact biotechnology in Chile and Latin America.

Get to know my story

I have been recognized for my work as an investor, communicator and director of companies. I have more than 20 years of experience in the biotechnology business field.

I was trained at the University of Chile, where I studied Molecular Biotechnology Engineering, and then I did a Master’s Degree in Bioscience Business at the University of Cambridge.

I am currently serving as Manager of Andes Biotechnologies, Business Director of Fundación Ciencia & Vida and General Partner of Zentynel Frontier Investments.

I host and produce programs for Chilean TV related to Science and Business, such as “Todo por la Ciencia”, “Pasaporte Ciencia” and “Ciencia al Día” and I am passionate about inspiring the next generation to seek that science, business are always in harmony.

I continue with more conviction than ever, contributing to the world of bioentrepreneurship and transmitting the effect that science and business have to generate well-being in our society.

Outstanding Achievements

Negotiated a global distribution agreement with Bayer for Phage Technologies.

Participated in the capital raising of more than USD 55 million for the companies of the Science and Business Campus.

Participated in interactions with the FDA of several companies of Fundación Ciencia y Vida’s Science and Business Campus.

Facilitated the negotiations that ended in the merger of Level Bioscience with Ingalfarma.

Raised more than USD 5 million in CORFO Grants for companies of Fundación Ciencia y Vida’s Science and Business Campus.

Negotiated research agreements with 6 of the world’s top 10 mining companies for Nova Mineralis.
